Ōhanga Ki Te Ao
Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono i te po has launched a Kotahitanga Fund at her Ōhanga ki te Ao indigenous economic summit in Kirikiriroa Hamilton, today.
The invitation-only summit was attended by 200 delegates including iwi leaders and investment fund managers from around the world. The event included a Māori business expo called Kohinga Koha representing 158 marae and various businesses from Tainui Waka.
Kiingitanga spokeswoman Rukumoana Schaafhausen said various iwi have pledged support for initial seeding funding of approximately $100 million to the Kotahitanga Fund.
Kotahitanga in Action: Te Whare Haka o Tainui
Te Whare Haka o Tainui stood in humble service to help ignite the event's opening. Kaihaka from every generation—our pīpī paopao through to our pakeke—unified in haka, waiata, and poi. Together, we stood as one to amplify the voice of Te Arikinui and her vision for the economic flourishing of Māoridom.
